Must be self-motivated and can identify pests, weeds, and other plants on our fields, inspect various crops, analyze problems, and make recommendations regarding the prevention and control of all types of agricultural pests and diseases.
Job Duties:
Monitor ranches for disease, pest, and weed pressures.
Chemical Bidding Coordinate with our outside PCA program Scout fields and write recommendations.
Ability to work reliably as a part of a team and independently.
Ability to create spreadsheets and chemical programs using Word and Excel Knowledge of agricultural pest control and production practices is required.
Bilingual English/Spanish (preferred but not required.
) Essential Job Functions:
Inspect various crops, analyze problems, and make recommendations regarding preventing and controlling all types of agricultural pests and diseases.
Maintain and update a record of results.
Observe, assist, and advise company pesticide applicators in proper calibration and use of spray equipment.
Perform other duties as assigned by the supervisor.
Will place traps in fields, conduct field evaluations, and pull soils and leaf samples.
Ability to learn and apply IPM practices, calibration, safety, and mixing.
The candidate should be able to lift 50
lbs as needed.
Be able to do continuous bending, stooping, and walking daily.
Required
Qualifications:
Bachelor's Degree (Preferred) 2
Years Experience (Preferred) Valid Pest Control Advisor (PCA) License Valid driver's license and clean driving record.
Knowledge of weeds, herbicides, insects, and insecticides.
Able to work in an outdoor environment, in a range of weather conditions.
Able to walk over uneven surfaces.
