Assists the Branch Operations Manager in day-to-day branch operations.
Learns all aspects of branch operations by assisting manager and providing day-to-day direction to other branch teammates.
Essential Functions:
In the absence of the Branch Manager, assumes responsibility for day-to-day activities of the branch, such as customer service, training, conducting branch meetings.
Ensures adherence to branch safety, security, other company policies and procedures by branch teammates.
Supports teammates in their training opportunities, enabling immediate application to daily work.
Keeps current on all required training.
Reviews, understands, and follows branch procedures, serving as a role model to ensure compliance by all teammates.
Works closely with Branch Manager to learn all functions of Branch Management, including but not limited to; operations, staffing, training, branch assets, expense management, budgeting, etc.
Confers with manager to ensure coordination of warehouse activities.
Informs manager of physical condition of warehouse and equipment.
Ensures needed repairs are made known and submits requisitions for replacement of equipment as needed.
Maintains daily workflow for delivery orders.
Supervises and directs teammates working in warehouse and as delivery drivers, assisting them during peak business hours.
Ensures operational procedures are followed regarding activities such as:
verification of incoming and outgoing shipments, handling and disposition of materials, replenishment orders, returned merchandise, and keeping warehouse inventory current.
Maintains a customer service oriented philosophy in all conduct to self and subordinates.
Interfaces and communicates with sales department and customers regarding service.
Assists with performance appraisals and disciplinary action.
Assists in addressing complaints and resolving problems.
Uses company vehicle to deliver products and equipment to customers in a safe and courteous manner.
Minimum Years of Related
Experience:
1-3 years Work Experience Required:
Previous warehouse operations experience, including leading or planning the work of other teammates.
Must meet all applicable state-specific drivers license requirements prior to driving a company vehicle to perform delivery duties.
Skills & Abilities Required:
Demonstrated self-starter and a motivated individual, willing to learn new skills and gain knowledge about all aspects of branch operations.
Requires demonstrated organizational, supervisory, and time management skills.
Strong interpersonal and written communication skills; able to provide direction and instruction to other teammates.
Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, policies, procedures and work instructions.
Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.
Ability to walk and/or stand for long periods of time (up to 3 miles daily walking) The average work week is forty-five hours, however, requirements of the position may warrant extended work hours.
Must be available to open and close the warehouse, Monday through Friday, and Saturdays (as required) as scheduled by the Branch Operations Manager.
Preferred Experience or Skills & Abilities Supervisory experience preferred Bilingual skills are preferred Powered lift equipment certification preferred but not required Education Level:
Associates Degree, or equivalent experience Decision-Making Scope:
Occasionally makes significant decisions within the standards of the position.
Is primarily guided by established policy and procedures.
Questions and problems that fall outside of standard operating procedures are referred to supervisor.
